What are "Softshare Sample" custom reports?

Softshare has created a number of templates for use within the custom report module that you can use to jumpstart your own custom report. These templates are prefixed with the phrase "Softshare Sample –" and are available for selection when creating a custom report.

The templates are all based upon existing system-defined WebCATS reports, but they may be customized to your own specifications. For example, if the built-in "Client Phone List with Company Information" report is almost what you need, but not quite, then you can build upon the Softshare Sample template that is available for this built-in report and augment it with your own requirements.

To create a custom report that is based on a Softshare Sample template, double-click the "--Create/Edit Custom Report--" line item option that displays at the top of the custom report listing, as shown in the next graphic.

From the first screen of the Custom Report Merlin, select the Softshare Sample template from the Report Template field's drop-down menu, as shown in the next graphic, and click Next.
